Halle Bailey, Ludacris, JB Smoove and CeeLo Green Among Voice Cast for Animated Movie Groove Tails

A new music-driven animated feature is heading to Annecy with a starry voice cast in tow. Groove Tails, from Twilight producers Imprint Entertainment and director Bob Logan, has assembled an ensemble starring Halle Bailey, Ludacris, JB Smoove, CeeLo Green, Alan Ritchson, Ansel Elgort, and international recording artist and actress Agnez Mo.

Set in New York City, the film follows an enthusiastic young mouse with dreams of becoming a world-famous dancer. When his father dismisses those ambitions, he sets off on a journey alongside an unlikely group of misfits who must discover their own unique rhythms while fighting to save the only place they have ever called home. The project is described as a four-quadrant, music-driven animated film with dance woven throughout.

Logan, an Emmy and Peabody Award winner whose credits include The Lego Ninjago Movie and The Croods: A New Age, directs from an original screenplay by Johnny Mack. The film is produced by Oscar-winning producer Maryann Garger, whose credits include If Anything Happens I Love You and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Michael Becker, founder of Imprint Entertainment. Executive producers include Jeff Elliott, Mary Aloe, Gilian Hormel, Jeff Gum, Graham Chan and Ritchson.

“Groove Tails is a celebration of individuality, perseverance and the universal language of music,” said Logan. “We’ve assembled an extraordinary cast that brings incredible energy, humor and heart to these characters. This is the kind of movie audiences of all ages can enjoy together.”

Currently in production, Groove Tails is expected to complete animation in the fourth quarter of 2026. Producers will introduce the film to buyers and the international animation community at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
