Harry Lennix to Lead Great American Pure Flix's Original Series 'Destination Heaven' [TRAILER]

Great American Pure Flix is set to premiere its third original series since merging with Sony’s streaming service Pure Flix last June. The new faith drama, “Destination Heaven,” stars Harry Lennix (known for “The Blacklist” and “Man of Steel”) as God. The six-part series will debut on May 24 and follows God as he meets people in various situations who think they’re doing good but realize they’re just going through the motions instead of growing emotionally or intellectually.

The show will feature guest appearances by Kevin Sorbo (“Chosen”), Emily Rose (“Gotham Knights”), and Tim Bensch (“Chicago Fire”).

“Destination Heaven” premieres on May 24 with the first episode titled “Home Is Where.” In this episode, Jenna (played by Rose) and Malcom (played by Bensch) are successful professionals who think they’re doing good by donating to charities. Jenna prays for a blessing and finds herself in a heavenly workshop with God, who asks her to help frame photos of a man she doesn’t recognize. God reveals the man is Darrel, a homeless person Jenna sees daily but has never acknowledged. As Jenna protests about her charitable contributions, she realizes she has never truly seen Darrel. This encounter changes Jenna, making her aware of her lack of real compassion.

Great American Pure Flix offers 24/7 faith and family-based series and films. In addition to movies like “Divine Influencer,” “Harvest Homecoming” with Trevor Donovan and Jessica Lowndes, and “Birthright Outlaw” starring Sarah Drew, the platform has also released original series like “Going Home” and “County Rescue.”

Before last year’s merger, Pure Flix was known for faith-based franchises such as “God’s Not Dead.” Sony Pictures Television acquired Pure Flix in December 2020.

“Destination Heaven” promises to explore how genuine growth comes from truly engaging with the world around us. The series is produced by Great American Pure Flix and will stream weekly starting May 24.
