ABC adds “High Potential” to its fall lineup and has released a teaser trailer for it. It’s one of two new fall 2024 drama series, with Ryan Murphy’s “Doctor Odyssey” being the second series.

High Potential is based on the popular French detective series HPI (Haut Potentiel Intellectuel) from Drew Goddard and ABC Signature, where Goddard and his Goddard Textiles are based. The series is led by Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata with Javicia Leslie, Judy Reyes, Deniz Akdeniz, and Amirah J rounding out the cast.
Written by Goddard, the remake centers on Morgan (Olson), a single mom with three kids and an exceptional mind who helps solve an unsolvable crime when she rearranges some evidence during her shift as a cleaner for the police department. When they discover she has a knack for putting things in order because of her high intellectual potential she is brought on as a consultant to work with a by-the-book seasoned detective, Karadec (Sunjata), and together they form an unusual and unstoppable team.
In the teaser, Morgan says, “Helping the cops solve a murder? It’s literally the easiest part of my day.” Watch the teaser below.
Leslie will play Daphne, Reyes is Selena Soto, Akdeniz will star as Lev “Oz” Osman, and J will play Ava. Details on their characters outside of their names is unknown.
The original French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI) was created by Created by Stéphane Carrié, Alice Chegaray-Breugnot and Nicolas Jean. It starred Audrey Fleurot as the intellectually highly gifted housekeeper.
Goddard and Sarah Esberg executive produce the ABC adaptation for Goddard Textiles; Rob Thomas, who serves as showrunner, and Dan Etheridge for Spondoolie Productions; and Pierre Laugier and Anthony Lancret for Itinéraire Productions, a UGC company. Alethea Jones is director and executive producer. Olson serves as producer.
