Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat is doubling down on the half-hour comedy special. LOL Live, the company’s stand-up showcase series, is returning to Hulu with 12 new specials rolling out one per month beginning June 19 and running through May 2027, the largest lineup in the franchise’s short history.
The series launched in 2025 with 10 specials as a deliberate bet on a format that has largely disappeared from the streaming landscape. That first slate found an audience, and Hartbeat responded by expanding the order and bringing in a new class of comedians: Chaunte Wayans, Matt Richards, Bresha Webb, Alfred Robles, Just Nesh, Comedian CP, Tacarra Williams, Jason Cheny, Dulce Sloan, Sydney Castillo, Paris Sashay and Lance Woods.
All 12 specials were filmed at WePlay Studios in Inglewood, California and are produced by Jeff Clanagan and executive produced by Hart, Luke Kelly-Clyne and Eric Weil for Hartbeat, alongside producer Valarie Benning Thompson. Marcus Russell Price directs.
“The response to the first slate demonstrated a strong appetite for stand-up comedy that feels fresh, authentic, and reflective of today’s comedy landscape,” said Weil, Hartbeat’s Vice President of Comedy. “We’re thrilled to continue growing the franchise while helping reintroduce the classic half-hour special to a new generation of comedy fans.”
