ABC is bringing a fresh twist to the crime drama genre with its latest dramedy, High Potential. A remake of the popular French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, the new series will premiere on ABC on Tuesday, September 17, at 10/9c. The series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mother whose knack for detail turns her life upside down when she transitions from cleaning floors to solving crimes.

The series also stars Daniel Sunjata as Detective Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Judy Reyes as Selena Soto, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Osman, and Amirah J as Morgan’s daughter Ava.

In this intriguing series, Olson’s character, Morgan, juggles motherhood with an unexpected talent for crime-solving. Working as a cleaner at a police department, Morgan stumbles upon crucial evidence while tidying up, leading to her remarkable insight into unsolved cases. The trailer showcases Morgan’s transformation from a “cleaning lady” to a sharp-eyed consultant whose observations challenge the status quo.

The narrative takes a significant turn when Detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) discovers Morgan’s unconventional methods and challenges her credibility. Despite initial skepticism from Karadec, Morgan’s unique perspective begins to prove invaluable. The tension between Morgan and Karadec, who seems to underestimate her abilities, sets the stage for an intriguing partnership filled with both friction and potential.

The final scenes hint at potential romantic tensions with the introduction of Ken Marino’s character, sparking speculation about a “will they/won’t they” subplot.

Eliza Coupe, Nasim Pedrad, and JD Pardo will guest star on the series.

Check out the trailer above to get a glimpse of this unique blend of crime-solving and comedy.
