Hulu’s Cleveland Browns Family Drama The Land Drops Trailer, “Family Is Hard, But This Is Business”

Hulu released the official trailer Tuesday for The Land, the upcoming football family drama from This Is Us and Paradise creator Dan Fogelman, confirming a February 15 premiere date. The nearly two-minute trailer centers on the Durkin family, led by Cleveland Browns owner Hal Durkin, played by William H. Macy, alongside head coach Danny Roarke, played by Christopher Meloni, as pressure mounts both on and off the field.

The series follows Roarke’s last chance to turn the Browns around, a fate tied directly to his own son, a newly drafted Ohio State quarterback played by Sam Corlett, while Hal weighs which of his two daughters, played by Mandy Moore and Chloe Bennet, is equipped to eventually run the franchise. The show marks Fogelman’s second major sports project after Fox’s Pitch, which told the story of the first female pitcher in Major League Baseball and earned strong reviews before its cancellation after one season. The Land also follows 2014’s Draft Day in using the real Cleveland Browns as the backdrop for a fictional story, with the actual team currently sitting at 3-2 this season.

The ensemble includes Omar Epps, continuing a run of steady, consistent presence across major network and streaming dramas spanning multiple genres, from medical procedurals to sports storytelling, without being confined to a single type of role. His casting here places him inside one of two central family units anchoring the series, rather than in a supporting or peripheral capacity.

The full cast also includes Chace Crawford, Tanner Zagarino, and Bridget Moynahan. Fogelman serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Jess Rosenthal, Kevin Falls, and Justin Adler, with David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed executive producing for Skydance Sports. The series is a 20th Television and Skydance Sports production.

With the premiere landing just hours after the Super Bowl itself, The Land is positioning itself to capture football audiences at the exact moment their attention is already locked on the sport, well before anyone knows whether this fictional Browns franchise fares any better than the real one.
