Director and multi-hyphenate Boots Riley is returning to the big screen with his next feature film, I Love Boosters, and has secured an impressive cast for the project. Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, LaKeith Stanfield, and Demi Moore are set to headline the film, which is being produced in partnership with NEON. Production is expected to begin this fall, with additional casting still in progress.

The film, I Love Boosters, will revolve around a group of enterprising shoplifters—referred to as “boosters”—who target a ruthless fashion mogul. Further details about the plot remain under wraps.
NEON is financing the film and has acquired worldwide rights. The studio, known for releasing bold, independent films, will handle both the film’s U.S. theatrical release and international sales. In addition to Riley, producers Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company (RPC) are on board, alongside Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read from Savage Rose Films. Executive producers include Mike Jackman, Gus Deardoff, Ken Kao, and Josh Rosenbaum from Waypoint Entertainment.
Boots Riley, who gained widespread acclaim for his provocative and socially-conscious debut Sorry to Bother You, continues to push boundaries in both film and television. His most recent work includes the Amazon Original miniseries I’m a Virgo, which starred Jharrel Jerome. With I Love Boosters, Riley once again blends sharp wit with biting social commentary, this time exploring the world of high-end fashion and those who disrupt it from the fringes.
NEON, fresh from the success of Osgood Perkins’ horror film Longlegs, which grossed over $75 million at the U.S. box office, is quickly becoming a powerhouse in independent cinema. In addition to I Love Boosters, NEON’s upcoming slate includes highly anticipated films like Sean Baker’s Anora, and Mohammad Rasoulof’s The Seed of the Sacred Fig.
