Netflix Renews ‘The Night Agent’ for a Third Season Ahead of Season Two Premiere [FIRST LOOK]

Netflix has officially renewed The Night Agent for a third season, even before the highly anticipated second season hits the platform. The renewal comes with an extended production schedule, as filming for season three will begin in late 2024 in Istanbul, continuing into 2025 in New York.

The second season, set to debut in winter 2025, will bring fans back into the world of Peter Sutherland, the low-level FBI agent portrayed by Gabriel Basso.

In season two, viewers will follow Sutherland’s full transition into his new role within the Night Action organization. As he navigates increasingly perilous missions, he’ll find himself facing dangerous enemies and grappling with who to trust. The mystery and intrigue that define the series are set to deepen, with new challenges for Sutherland both in the field and within his personal relationships.

Amanda Warren joins the series as Catherine Weaver, a veteran operative tasked with overseeing Sutherland’s training as a Night Agent. Berto Colon also joins as a series regular as Solomon, a former Marine turned right-hand man/fixer for a powerful businessman;

Returning to their roles are Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin, the tech CEO embroiled in the conspiracy that Sutherland seeks to unravel, and Basso as Sutherland himself. The third season will also introduce several new faces, including Arienne Mandi and Louis Herthum alongside Brittany Snow and Teddy Sears in recurring roles. Marwan Kenzari (Black Adam), Elise Kibler (The Sunlit Night), and Dikran Tulaine (The Blacklist) will guest star in the series.

Herthum plays Jacob Monroe, an international businessman with powerful global connections that he uses to obtain valuable information; and Mandi plays Noor, a low-level aide in the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York who is looking to leverage her access to top secret information into a better life for her and her family.

Sutherland’s journey from manning a secret phone line in the White House basement to becoming a Night Agent captivated audiences in the show’s breakout first season. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk and created by Shawn Ryan, The Night Agent ranked as one of Netflix’s most-watched English-language series in 2023, making it an immediate success.

Shawn Ryan, the showrunner and creator of The Night Agent, will continue to helm the project for season two and beyond. With a production team that includes notable names like Marney Hochman, Seth Gordon, and Project X Entertainment’s David Beaubaire and James Vanderbilt, the series promises to maintain the high-octane action and suspense that have made it a fan favorite.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more updates, with production already underway for season three and an exciting new chapter for The Night Agent on the horizon. With its unique blend of espionage, action, and political drama, the series is poised to remain a top contender in Netflix’s lineup of original programming.
