Following her acclaimed portrayal of Queen Charlotte, India Amarteifio is trading the opulent world of the Bridgerton era for the complexities of modern youth. The rising star is set to headline the upcoming coming-of-age drama, Into The Deep Blue she will star alongside Damian Hardung.
The film, adapted from Jennifer Archer’s Nicholl Fellowship-winning script, follows two friends navigating loss and the complexities of young love. The official synopsis reads Into the Deep Blue “follows Nick ( Damian Hardung) and Fiona (Amarteifio), best friends who met in group therapy and are struggling to piece their lives together after experiencing loss. The synopsis reads: The last thing they need is to fall in love. When a weekend trip brings their deepening feelings to the surface, they might sooner cut each other off than face them.”
Archer’s script, selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has generated significant industry buzz. Into The Deep Blue is slated for a UK shoot, with Aletha Shepherd and Jennifer Presser of Shot of Tea producing. Jonathan Wright will direct.
Hardung, a rising star from Prime Video’s Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, brings his own wave of fan following to the project. The series holds the record for the streamer’s most-watched international show.
