Prime Video’s We Were Liars is expanding its cast ahead of its second season. Riley Voelkel, Madeleine Arthur, Jaelynn Thora Brooks, Layla Douglas, Callan Potter, Aidan Shaw, Shaun Sipos and Brendon Tremblay have all joined in recurring roles.
Several cast members are also returning, including Emerson MacNeil as Bonnie, Manaia Wall as Liberty, Andrew Moodie as Thatcher, Brady Doulis as Will, Charlie Carrick as Sam and Dylan Bruce as Brody Sheffield.
Season 2 sends Cadence, played by Emily Alyn Lind, back to Beechwood Island to confront her truth, where she uncovers the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999, a season marked by first love, rivalry and murder. The story unfolds across two timelines, with flashbacks following young Carrie, Penny and Bess, played by Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald and Candice King, as they reckon with a past that continues to haunt them in the present.
The new cast members and their roles are as follows:
Voelkel plays Adult Yardley, a magnetic Sinclair cousin who returns to Beechwood after years of exile with scores to settle.
Arthur plays Young Yardley, the worldly, elegant cousin who brought both magic and complications to the island the summer of 1999.
Brooks plays Erin Riegert, a school friend visiting the Sinclairs for the summer whose empathy and perception prove to be a liability on the island.
Douglas plays Rosemary, the youngest Sinclair, a whimsical and curious girl facing her first summer of loneliness as her older sisters turn their attention elsewhere.
Potter plays Gideon, a former Ivy League golden boy turned sought-after tennis coach whose charm conceals darker intentions.
Shaw plays George Bryce-Amory, a loyal and big-hearted Texan from an oil family who is entirely devoted to Yardley.
Sipos plays Dean, a confident, influential Democrat with generational wealth and skeletons threatening to surface.
Tremblay plays Jeremy Majorino, a jovial New Yorker along for the ride on an impromptu summer vacation for reasons of his own.
We Were Liars Season 2 is written and executive produced by co-showrunners Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie, with Emily Cummins, Brett Matthews, Marguerite MacIntyre and author E. Lockhart also executive producing. Universal Television and Amazon MGM Studios produce.
