Jayln Hall and Amir O’Neil are co-starring in the drama pilot, The Crossover for Disney+.
George Tillman Jr is directing the pilot which is based on Kwame Alexander’s bestselling novel of the same name that is told entirely through verse. Alexander and Damani Johnson are scripting with Dee Johnson supervising.
The Crossover is the coming-of-age story of teen basketball prodigy twins Josh (aka Filthy) and Jordan (aka JB) Bell who must learn to deal with problems on and off the court as they navigate homework, first crushes, family and, of course, basketball.

Josh and Jordan must come to grips with growing up on and off the court to realize breaking the rules comes at a terrible price, as their story’s heart-stopping climax proves a game-changer for the entire family. As they deal with their own trials, their former pro-baller father adjusts to life after basketball and matriarch mother finally gets to pursue dreams of her own.
Hall stars as Filthy aka Josh. O’Neil stars as Jordan and ann interesting fact, O’Neil is a twin in real life.
In March 2021, it was announced that Disney+ had given a pilot order to a television adaptation of the book. The Crossover is Produced by Bob Teitel and Jay Marcus, Written and Produced by Kwame Alexander, Damani Johnson, and Dee Johnson.
There is no release date announced for this project.

Hall is series regular on the hit CW series All American, playing “Dillon James”; and starred in Joe Robert Cole’s feature All Day and a Night for Netflix, playing a young Ashton Sanders.
O’Neil started acting at the early age of seven, when he was cast in the leading role of Michael in TV One’s original movie White Water. Since then, he’s landed series regular roles on two television shows including Bounce TV’s Mann And Wife as Darren, NBC’s Marlon as Zack and currently the voice of Marty the Zebra in the hit animated series Madagascar: A Little Wild.
