Renée Elise Goldsberry is in talks to star in Disney+’s upcoming limited Marvel series She-Hulk.

She will co-star opposite Tatiana Maslany and Ginger Gonzaga.

Directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, She-Hulk is a legal comedy that centers on the eponymous heroine (Maslany), aka Jennifer Walters. Walters is an attorney and Bruce Banner/The Hulks’ cousin who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control.

Goldsberry would play a character referred to as Amelia. Ginger Gonzaga will play Walters’ best friend. As announced at Disney Investor Day, Avengers star Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as The Hulk and Tim Roth is reprising his Hulk character of The Abomination on She-Hulk.

Coiro will also executive produce the series alongside showrunner Jessica Gao who is also penning the series.

Reps for Marvel and Goldsberry declined to comment.

Ahead of She-Hulk Goldsberry will star in Girls5eva. Meredith Scardino created ‘Girls5eva’ which follows the former members of a one-hit-wonder girl group from the ’90s. The members of the group are Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, Busy Philipps, and Ashley Park. They reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot after a young rapper samples their song.  The longline asks, “They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?”

The upcoming Peacock series will drop on Thursday, May 6.

Deadline first reported the Goldsberry news.
