The faith-based drama, starring Ashley Olivia Fisher and Aspen Kennedy, transplants the Christmas story into a contemporary inner-city love story ahead of its November 13 release.
The trailer has dropped for ‘God With Us,’ a faith-based reimagining of the Nativity story set in a modern inner-city landscape, giving audiences their first real look at writer-director Jimmy Jenkins’s sophomore feature.
Ashley Olivia Fisher and Aspen Kennedy lead the cast as the film’s central couple, joined by Rotimi and Lil Rel Howery, both of whom also serve as executive producers on the project, along with Roger Guenveur Smith, Ashley Rios, Gregory Alan Williams, and Clifton Powell.
The film follows childhood sweethearts Mary Anne Thomas and Joseph “Junie” Love as they navigate an unexpected pregnancy that tests both their faith and their bond. Billed as a modern-day parable exploring grace, growth, and unconditional love, ‘God With Us’ blends drama with heart and humor, grounding a familiar sacred story in very human stakes.
Jenkins produces alongside David Jacobson, Asante White, Jasmine K. White, Kellon Akeem, and Daniel Bowie. The broader executive producer roster includes Michael Locksley, Tramiel “Twin” Clark, James Crawford, Pep Hamilton, John K. Jenkins, Michelle S. Duffie, Pastor Mike, Jr., Tyler Gould, Trina Jenkins, and Joshua Jenkins.
‘God With Us’ is being distributed by Blue Harbor Entertainment, with Variance Films handling theatrical release. The film opens in select theaters nationwide November 13, 2026.
