Jocko Sims, known for his role in New Amsterdam, is returning to NBC with a recurring role in the network’s upcoming drama series, Grosse Pointe Garden Society. Created by Good Girls producers Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, the series is set to premiere on sunday, February 23, at 10/9c.
Sims, who currently stars in How to Die Alone, joins a cast led by Aja Naomi King (Lessons in Chemistry), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries), and Ben Rappaport (For the People). The show follows four members of a suburban garden club whose lives are disrupted by scandal, secrets, and a shared connection to a murder no one wants to discuss. As their seemingly perfect lives begin to decay, the characters wrestle with dark truths lurking beneath the surface.
Sims will portray Tucker, Catherine’s (King) entitled and dismissive husband, whose selfishness drives a wedge in their marriage. Additional recurring cast members include Saamer Usmani (The Three-Body Problem), Josh Ventura (Till), and Nora Zehetner (Grey’s Anatomy). Usmani plays Gary, a local realtor involved in an affair with Catherine, while Ventura takes on the role of Connor, a partner at a law firm and the current husband of Brett’s (Rappaport) ex-wife, Melissa (Zehetner).
The show’s ensemble also features Matthew Davis (Legacies), Alexander Hodge (Insecure), Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing), and Felix Avitia (Raven’s Home). The series blends elements of suburban drama, mystery, and intrigue, offering a fresh take on neighborhood dynamics with a darker twist.
A trailer for Grosse Pointe Garden Society was released last week, teasing the show’s central themes of deception and danger. In the trailer, a character ominously states, “To make something grow, something has to die,” setting the tone for a narrative filled with secrets and suspense.
The drama is produced by Universal Television and executive produced by Bans and Krebs, who also serve as co-showrunners. Casey Kyber is also on board as an executive producer, with Maggie Kiley directing the pilot.
With its mix of scandal, mystery, and suburban intrigue, Grosse Pointe Garden Society promises to captivate viewers. Mark your calendars for its premiere on sunday, February 23, to see how this garden club drama unfolds.
