Jodie Turner-Smith is the latest addition to the ensemble cast of the upcoming Paramount+ and Showtime drama series, “The Agency.” Turner-Smith will be joining an already impressive lineup, including Jeffrey Wright, Michael Fassbender, and Richard Gere.
Based on the acclaimed French series “Le Bureau,” “The Agency” follows the story of Martian, portrayed by Michael Fassbender, a covert CIA operative who is abruptly ordered to abandon his undercover mission and return to the agency’s London station. As Martian navigates the complexities of his reassignment, he encounters a love from his past, reigniting a romance that challenges his career, identity, and mission.

Turner-Smith will portray Sami Zahir, a social anthropology professor with a history with Martian. Her role is expected to add depth to the storyline, blending personal history with professional stakes.

Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer at Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios & Paramount Media Networks, commented on Turner-Smith’s casting: “Jodie Turner-Smith is a force who captivates audiences with her raw, emotional power. Jeffrey Wright will play Henry, the Director of Operations and Martian’s mentor, while Richard Gere is cast as Bosko, the London Station Chief with a notable past as an undercover agent.

“The Agency” will debut on demand and streaming for Paramount+ subscribers with the Showtime plan, and will be available internationally on Paramount+ in several countries, including the UK, Canada, and Australia. The series is co-distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studios.
The executive production team includes Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz from Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios; David C. “The Agency” is produced by 101 Studios and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. The series, based on “Le Bureau” created by Eric Rochant, ran for five seasons on French network Canal+.
