Bounce TV Renews ‘Johnson’ for Fourth Season, Announces Premiere Date

Bounce Network, a subsidiary of Scripps, has renewed the hit dramedy series “Johnson” for its fourth season. The show, featuring a predominantly Black male cast, stars Deji LaRay, Thomas Q. Jones, Philip Smithey, Derrex Brady, and DL Hughley. Season four is scheduled to debut on Saturday, August 3rd, with two episodes airing back-to-back starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.

“Johnson” follows four lifelong best friends with the same last name in Atlanta. It has gained attention for its portrayal of Black masculinity and exploration of themes like fatherhood, classism, and relationships among Black men and women. The series offers a perspective on love, self-discovery, and brotherhood from the Black male viewpoint while remaining inclusive.

The show is produced in partnership with Eric C. Rhone and Cedric The Entertainer’s A Bird & A Bear Entertainment, Deji LaRay and Thomas Q. Jones’ Midnight Train Productions. LaRay and Jones are the showrunners and executive producers, with Rhone, Cedric The Entertainer, and Reesha L. Archibald as executive producers.

Fans can catch up on the first three seasons of “Johnson” on Hulu before the new season premieres. This renewal reflects the show’s success and its ongoing impact on television audiences.
