Okwui Okpokwasili has been announced as the latest addition to the cast of Jaume Collet-Serra’s upcoming thriller “The Woman in the Yard,” produced by Blumhouse for Universal Pictures. She joins Danielle Deadwyler in undisclosed roles.

Plot details for the film remain tightly under wraps, in line with Blumhouse’s tradition of secrecy regarding their projects. Okpokwasili’s involvement marks a reunion with Blumhouse, having previously starred in their fall release “Exorcist: Believer.”

In addition to her role in “The Woman in the Yard,” Okpokwasili’s recent work includes appearances in Marvel Studios/Disney+’s series “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” as well as “Master” for Prime Video, and various film projects.

The screenplay for “The Woman in the Yard” is written by Sam Stefanak, with Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain producing, and Collet-Serra, Deadwyler, Gabrielle Ebron, Scott Greenberg, and James Moran serving as executive producers. Blumhouse executives Haley Pigman and Jungyoon Kim are overseeing the project.

Collet-Serra, known for his directorial work on “Black Adam,” is expected to bring his expertise in the thriller genre to this project, which is scheduled for release in theaters on January 10, 2025. Further updates on “The Woman in the Yard” are anticipated as production progresses.
