Could you imagine a ‘Clueless’ that starred Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon?
The ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ co-stars revealed in a recent Buzzfeed interview that they both auditioned for the iconic ’90s comedy that starred Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd.
“One thing that is public and it came out last year, I auditioned so hard for Clueless and I didn’t get it,” Witherspoon said.
“Really?” Washington replied. “I did too!”

They didn’t share what roles they were vying for but we can take a guess and say the ‘Scandal’ alum was auditioning for the role of Dash’s role of Dionne. As for Witherspoon we are going to go out on a limb and she was auditioning for the role of the late Brittany Murphy’s character, Tai.
After speaking about their audition Washington proposed a fun idea that the two “should do like a remake.”
“Recreate a scene from Clueless!” Witherspoon answered. “That would be so fun!”
Washington also shared how she first met her current costar. “I will say that Reese and I met at a kind of workshopping, reading, working of a script at Leonardo DiCaprio’s house—just a little name drop,” she said. “And it was for a movie that eventually went, but neither of us was in it.”

“Neither was Leo,” Witherspoon laughed.
We aren’t sure what role that was for but imagine a movie with Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon, and Leonardo DiCaprio? Yeah, we would love to see it too.
