Kerry Washington & Omar Sy Have a Bounty on Their Head in 'Shadow Force' -- Sets Release Date

Falling in love was the easy part—staying alive is the real fight. In Shadow Force, Kerry Washington and Omar Sy take center stage as former special ops leaders who risked everything for each other. Now, they’re on the run, hunted by the very organization they once commanded. Lionsgate has officially set the May 2 theatrical release, dropping the action-packed thriller right into summer blockbuster season.

Washington and Sy play Kyrah and Isaac, once the top operatives of an elite paramilitary unit called Shadow Force. But breaking protocol to be together made them enemies of the state. To protect their son, they disappear—but their past isn’t done with them yet. With a massive bounty on their heads, their former allies turn into relentless assassins, forcing the couple into a battle where survival means taking the fight head-on.

Directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin’ Aces), the film boasts an impressive cast, including Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Jahleel Kamara, Krondon, Natalia Reyes, Yoson An, and Ed Quinn. Carnahan co-wrote the screenplay with Leon Chills, while Washington pulls double duty as both star and producer, alongside Pilar Savone, Stephen “Dr.” Love, and Sterling K. Brown, who was initially set to lead the film before shifting to a producer role.

Set to hit theaters May 2, Shadow Force enters the summer box office battle against Marvel’s Thunderbolts and arrives in a month stacked with major releases, including Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Final Destination: Bloodlines. But with its high-stakes action, emotional core, and powerhouse cast, this thriller is ready to make its mark.

Love put them on the run—now, they’ll have to fight to survive.
