TUBI, in collaboration with Marvista Entertainment, is set to premiere their latest thriller, “Killer Beat,” this Thursday, June 27. The film, which delves into fame and obsession, is both written and directed by Michael “Boogie” Pinckney, known for his work on “Terror Lake Drive” and “Trafficked.”
“Killer Beat” following the story of Trinity (Stakiah Washington), also known as Lady Bars, a struggling rapper whose life takes a dramatic turn when she achieves overnight fame with a viral hit. However, her dream quickly morphs into a nightmare as she becomes the target of a serial killer who hunts female artists. Balancing her burgeoning career with the need to stay alive, Trinity must outsmart her pursuer to remain at the top of the charts.
Terayle Hill (“Judas and the Black Messiah”), B. Simone (“Scheme Queens”), Alfred E. Rutherford (“Lace,” “Keyshia Cole: This Is My Story”), and Christie Leverette (“Sistas”) round out the cast.
Garrett Mock and Maggie Mock of Mock Yeah Films produced the film with Brittany Clemons, Lauren Pfeiffer, and Marianne C. Wunch serving as executive producers for Marvista Entertainment.
