The entertainment world is mourning the sudden loss of Lance Reddick, who passed away March 17, 2023 at the age of 60.
Lance Reddick was an accomplished American actor who has made a significant impact on both the big and small screens. His versatility as an actor has allowed him to portray a diverse range of characters with depth and nuance. And to say Reddick stayed busy was an understatement. He already had seven films in the works with six either being in post production or completed. John Wick: Chapter 4
Reddick had recently been promoting the highly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4, in which he reprises his role as Charon, the concierge of New York’s Continental Hotel. The film, set to open next week, will be dedicated to the late actor.
The Ballerina
Reddick also played Charon in the John Wick spinoff, The Ballerina, which Lionsgate has yet to announce a release date for.
The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial
Reddick completed work on The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, a Showtime production led by Kiefer Sutherland, in which he played Captain Blakely, the chief judge of the court-martial. The film, originally written in 1951, follows a naval officer who stands trial for mutiny after taking command from a ship captain he feels is acting in an unstable way, putting in danger both the ship and its crew.
Shirley
In John Ridley’s Shirley Chisholm biopic, Shirley, Reddick portrays Chisholm’s campaign manager. The film is expected to be released later this year.
Percy Jackson
Reddick will also star as Zeus in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which has finished production on its first season. The show follows the story of a 12-year-old modern demigod who discovers his supernatural powers and is accused by Zeus of stealing his master lightning bolt.
White Men Can’t Jump
Fans can also catch Reddick in the Hulu reboot of White Men Can’t Jump, in which he plays the father and coach of Sinqua Walls’ character who is living with MS.
St. Sebastian
Reddick is starring as Ives in St. Sebastian which centers on survivors in post apocalyptic Russia after nuclear war. Directed by Danny DeVito, according to IMDB the film has completed filming.
