NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor—arguably one of the most electrifying and game-changing defensive players in football history—is getting the full biopic treatment.
Stoked Sports & Entertainment has locked in the life rights to NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor through an exclusive deal with BEL Productions — and they are gearing up to roll out A Giant Amongst Men across multiple platforms, including a narrative feature film, a limited series, and a documentary.
Yes, you read that right. LT’s story is coming to the screen in not one, not two, but three formats.
This ambitious slate aims to tackle the highs, lows, and everything in between—from Taylor’s explosive rise to NFL stardom to the personal demons and controversies that often followed him off the field. With development already underway, casting news and talent announcements are expected in the months ahead.
The producing team includes Blake Leon and Curran Walters through their banner BEL Productions, along with Stoked Sports & Entertainment’s Jarnell Stokes, Aisha Corpas Wynn, Beth Fryman Poulin, Sean Mik’ael Butler, and Patrick Strøm.
Lawrence Taylor’s impact on the game can’t be overstated. Drafted by the New York Giants in 1981, he didn’t just play the game—he reshaped it. In his rookie season, he did the unthinkable by snagging both the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Over a 13-year career, he earned 10 Pro Bowl nods, eight First-Team All-Pro selections, two Super Bowl rings, and racked up 132.5 career sacks. He was officially inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
Stoked Sports & Entertainment, based in Beverly Hills, is building a niche in helping athletes expand their influence beyond the court and field into film, TV, and digital platforms. Alongside the Taylor project, they’re also behind Game Changer, a podcast hosted by WNBA champion Shay Murphy that highlights trailblazing athletes, and The Hardaway Files, focused on NBA legend Tim Hardaway.
Jarnell Stokes, co-founder of Stoked Sports and a two-time basketball gold medalist, has also been making moves in the entertainment space with his other venture, Stoked Bros Media. His production credits include indie projects like Break the Cycle, Helen’s Dead, Slayers, and Dig, and he’s now reimagining the cult-favorite 2008 film Strictly Sexual.
With LT’s story in the hands of a team that knows how to merge sports, storytelling, and star power, A Giant Amongst Men is shaping up to be more than a sports biopic—it’s a legacy retold.
