‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 Trailer Drops — All the Ladies Are Back… Except Two

Max just dropped the official trailer for And Just Like That Season 3, and as always, the drama, the fashion, and the complicated love lives are returning in full swing — minus a couple familiar faces.

Premiering May 29, the Sex and the City sequel kicks off its third chapter with big shifts and even bigger questions — especially around the return of Aidan (John Corbett) and the slow unraveling of Carrie’s next chapter. But before we get into all that, let’s talk about who won’t be returning.

Karen Pittman, who played Nya Wallace (Miranda’s professor-turned-friend), exited due to scheduling conflicts. And Che Diaz — the controversial character portrayed by Sara Ramírez — also left. But despite their absence, the series has added welcomed Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, and Logan Marshall-Green in recurring roles.

Where We Left Off

Season 2 ended with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) toasting her old life with a final dinner party in her iconic Upper East Side apartment — the same one she lived in during Sex and the City. After losing Big and giving Aidan yet another chance (though he’s now raising three kids in Virginia), she bought a new Gramercy Park home. Aidan asked her to wait five years while he focused on parenting. Carrie, ever the romantic, actually considered it.

Meanwhile, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) snagged a new job at Human Rights Watch, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) stepped back into the art world. Everyone seemed to be entering a new era — and Season 3 is picking up right where those storylines left off.

The Trailer Tease: Complications Galore

The new trailer confirms what many suspected: Aidan is back, but nothing’s simple. One moment Carrie is explaining that their relationship is “complicated,” the next she’s maybe flirting with a new neighbor. But then — boom — we see her sharing breakfast with Aidan and his sons. So, are we witnessing a rekindling? Or just more heartbreak in designer shoes?

Elsewhere, Charlotte walks in on her daughter Lily (Cathy Ang) making out with a boy she assumed was just a “crush,” Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) edges toward dangerous territory with a possible fling played by Mehcad Brooks (because, yes, temptation has dimples), and Miranda finds herself crushing on someone at work.

Also — let’s talk about Carrie’s new rat problem. Her dreamy Gramercy apartment is apparently crawling with rodents, which feels like a very specific New York initiation. Thankfully, she has a cat who may or may not be up for the task. (If not, call the Ninja Turtles.)

And if you missed Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Anthony (Mario Cantone), don’t worry — they’re both back and trying to figure out what happiness really looks like.

The Vibe

In an earlier interview, showrunner Michael Patrick King put it best: “It’s the most hilariously aggressive love-hate relationship, as a cosmos… It means it’s alive and kicking. It’s not dead, and it’s certainly not a reboot — it’s a new chapter with new energy.”

And Just Like That has always stirred debate — sometimes delightfully messy, sometimes emotionally jarring — but it’s clear: it’s not trying to be what it was. It’s something else now. And love it or not, it’s got people watching.

The Cast

Season 3 brings back series regulars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Cathy Ang, Jonathan Cake, Mario Cantone, Niall Cunningham, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Logan Marshall-Green, Sebastiano Pigazzi, Alexa Swinton, Dolly Wells, and John Corbett.

New additions include Mehcad Brooks (Power), bringing the heat and a whole new kind of chaos.

The series is developed and executive produced by Michael Patrick King, along with Parker, Nixon, Davis, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, and Susan Fales-Hill.

And Just Like That…

A new chapter begins May 29. And if the trailer’s any indication, it’s going to be messy, emotional, and exactly what the cosmos ordered.
