Laz Alonso, known for his role in “The Boys,” has officially joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, “Fountain of Youth,” for Apple. He joins previously cast John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Eiza Gonzalez, and Domhnall Gleeson.

The casting process was facilitated by IAG, who recently welcomed Alonso as a new client. The film, penned by James Vanderbilt, centers around two estranged siblings embarking on a global heist to discover the mythological Fountain of Youth. As they follow historical clues, the duo faces an epic adventure that could not only alter their lives but potentially grant them immortality.

Fountain of Youth is produced for Apple by Skydance, Vinson Films, and Project X Entertainment. The project marks Alonso’s reunion with Ritchie after their collaboration on the action thriller “Wrath of Man,” where Alonso starred alongside Jason Statham. The film is part of a first-look partnership between Apple and Skydance Media and will be produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, Jake Myers, and Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella) are also involved in production.

“Fountain of Youth” has garnered attention at Skydance, with sources describing Vanderbilt’s script as one that “blew execs away.” The film’s high priority status led to a careful assembly of talent, with Ritchie eyeing the project since spring and Krasinski expressing interest around the same time. The project also marks the third collaboration between Gonzalez and Ritchie, following their recent work on an untitled action movie.

Alonso, best known for his portrayal of Mother’s Milk in “The Boys” and as the antagonist Fenix in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. His filmography also includes “Avatar,” “Detroit,” “Jumping The Broom,” and “Miracle at St. Anna.”
