Lex Scott Davis has secured the female lead role alongside Stephen Amell in the upcoming NBC drama pilot, “Suits: L.A.” The pilot, directed by Victoria Mahoney, is an extension of the Suits universe created by Aaron Korsh, is set to explore the legal landscape of Los Angeles with a fresh cast and storyline.

Davis joins series regulars Stephen Amell and Josh McDermitt in the pilot, which is slated to begin production in late March in Vancouver. The casting decision followed an extensive search for the right fit for the role.

“Suits: L.A.” revolves around Ted Black (Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York, who transforms his career by representing powerful clients in Los Angeles. Teaming up with his old friend, Stuart Lane (McDermitt), they establish Black Lane Law, specializing in criminal and entertainment law.

The firm faces a crisis, pushing Ted to embrace a role he had previously held in contempt throughout his career. The narrative unfolds as personal and professional lives intertwine, testing loyalties among the characters. Simultaneously, past events resurface, forcing Ted to leave behind everything he once cherished.

Lex Scott Davis will portray Erica Rollins, a savvy and strong-willed rising star working for Ted Black. Her character adds depth to the storyline as she navigates the challenges of a high-stakes legal environment.

Contrary to being a reboot or revival, “Suits: L.A.” is a brand extension, similar to franchises like CSI and NCIS, introducing new characters in a new location. Aaron Korsh serves as an executive producer, alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein, who were part of the original series. Victoria Mahoney directs and executive produces the pilot, bringing her expertise to the project.

Davis, known for her roles in “The First Purge” and Netflix’s “Florida Man,” continues to make waves in the entertainment industry. Her upcoming projects include the Amazon feature “Ricky Stanicky,” starring alongside John Cena and Zac Efron.

As the pilot heads into production with director Victoria Mahoney at the helm, “Suits: L.A.” aims to capture the essence of the Suits legacy while introducing a compelling new chapter to the legal drama’s universe. The series promises to deliver the same energy and appeal that made the original Suits a success, maintaining consistency within the established timeframe. While details about potential appearances by original cast members remain unclear, fans can anticipate an exciting addition to the Suits franchise.
