Fresh off the season 2 renewal of Netflix’s Forever, Lovie Simone is stepping into darker territory with Oddities, a new horror thriller from filmmaker Tyler Savage.
Simone will star alongside Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York), Xander Berkeley (The Walking Dead), and Lilimar Hernandez (Inside Out 2) in the genre-bending project, which expands on Savage’s 2023 short film of the same name.
The film follows two self-destructive best friends—played by Simone and Lilimar—who accidentally kill someone and seek refuge in a roadside antique shop. There, they encounter an older woman (Barbeau) who seems helpful at first, but their situation quickly spirals into something much more sinister.
“Oddities is an irreverent celebration of so many of the things that first made me fall in love with film,” Savage shared in a statement. “I’m filled with gratitude for getting a chance to expand this world, and I’m thrilled with how this team and cast have come together.”
The film recently wrapped principal photography in Louisville, Kentucky, with producers currently in sales discussions for a 2026 release.
Behind the scenes, Oddities is produced by David Broad, Javier Gonzalez, Noah Lang, and Max Neace. Executive producers include Simone, Lilimar, Jamie Meyer, Lucas Fleisher, and Barbeau, alongside co-producers Travis LaSalle, Dash Hawkins, and Jeff Smith.
Simone is building an impressive resume with her roles in Forever, Greenleaf, and indie film standouts. Barbeau continues to leave her mark on the genre with classics like The Fog and Creepshow, while Berkeley brings decades of character work to the table. Lilimar, meanwhile, expands her repertoire beyond animation, most recently voicing characters in Inside Out 2 and Batwheels.
Keep an eye out—Oddities may just be one of the most intriguing horror offerings on the horizon.
