If you’ve been waiting to experience Sinners from the comfort of your home, the wait is nearly over. Ryan Coogler’s original horror epic will officially be available to buy on digital platforms starting June 3, 2025.

After premiering in theaters on April 18, Sinners has quickly cemented itself as one of the biggest success stories of the year. With a production budget of $90 million, the film has grossed over $321 million globally, including a staggering $244.6 million from domestic audiences alone. That not only makes it one of the highest-grossing horror films of all time, but it also secures its spot as the third-biggest domestic horror release ever, trailing only It and Jaws.

Written and directed by Coogler, Sinners stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as twin brothers Elijah and Elias, who return to their Mississippi hometown to open a juke joint. But what begins as a celebration of music and community quickly turns into a chilling supernatural tale. As the twins join forces with their younger cousin Sammie (Miles Canton) and blues legend Delta Slim (Delroy Lindo), they discover a dark, ancestral force feeding off the music and stories passed down through generations.

The film blends horror, music, and cultural commentary, offering a rich cinematic experience layered with symbolism. As The New York Times critic Maya Phillips noted, the film uses the vampire mythos to explore themes of colonialism, assimilation, and the preservation of Black culture.

On June 3, Sinners will be available for digital purchase from retailers like Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango at Home, and YouTube, with pre-orders already live on Amazon for $24.99. A digital rental option is expected to follow shortly after for $19.99. While the film’s physical release date remains unannounced, pre-orders for the limited-edition 4K Steelbook have already sold out on Amazon and Walmart.

However, if you’re waiting to stream it as part of a subscription service, you may need to hold off a bit longer. While no streaming release date has been confirmed, the film is expected to land on Max later this summer.

Critics have praised Sinners not only for its bold storytelling but also for Coogler’s vision. Rolling Stone called it “messy but gloriously so,” while Slate highlighted it as “a wildly ambitious meditation on American history and a rip-roaring good time.”

As Coogler’s first original IP since Fruitvale Station, Sinners marks a return to form for the director, proving that original, culturally grounded storytelling can still thrive on the big screen. With its digital release approaching, the film is poised to reach an even broader audience—one that may not have caught it in theaters but is no less eager to engage with its haunting narrative.

Whether you’re watching it for the first time or revisiting its layered brilliance, Sinners hits digital platforms on June 3—don’t miss it.
