David Oyelowo and Nate Parker’s Mansa Studios has struck a partnership with TikTok to co-distribute its original microdramas, with three titles now available directly through the TikTok Minis platform as well as on the Mansa app. It marks the first time Mansa content has launched on TikTok.
The three titles debuting on the platform are My Twin Sister Stole My Man, a relationship-driven drama exploring betrayal, identity and the complicated ties that bind family together; I Married the King of the Streets, a high-stakes romance in which love, loyalty and power collide within a dangerous world; and The Love Contract, which follows a contract relationship that becomes increasingly complicated when a carefully arranged agreement begins to turn into something real.
As we previously reported, Mansa announced a slate of 10 original microdrama series earlier this year as part of its broader push into vertical storytelling, with all projects being developed, financed, produced and distributed through its own integrated studio ecosystem. The TikTok partnership adds a major new distribution channel to that model, bringing Mansa’s mobile-first content directly into TikTok’s global community.
“TikTok has become the most influential platform in the world for entertainment discovery, making it an ideal home for stories designed to capture audiences immediately and keep them coming back,” said Parker. “Bringing multiple original projects to viewers at once allows us to continue expanding the possibilities of culturally resonant, mobile-first storytelling.”
“Mansa was created to ensure that culturally rich stories can reach audiences wherever they are,” added Oyelowo. “As viewing habits evolve, we are embracing new formats and platforms that allow us to remain connected to our audience while creating meaningful opportunities for diverse storytellers and talent.”
Mansa originally launched as an ad-supported streaming platform highlighting Black content for a global audience and continues to develop film and television content alongside its microdrama slate. The company also has a theatrical deal with AMC Theatres, which earlier this year gave the long-delayed thriller Newborn a domestic release.
