Marlon Wayans is on a mission to bring back some of his most beloved comedy classics, and honestly, we’re here for it. The actor, writer, and producer has already confirmed Scary Movie 6, which will arrive in 2026 but recently he’s teased a sequel to Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood and now White Chicks 2. If nostalgia had a VIP section, the Wayans family would be running bottle service right now.
We previously reported that Wayans stopped by Big Boy TV and revealed plans to revisit his 1996 hood parody Don’t Be a Menace, which took aim at ‘90s classics like Boyz n the Hood, Menace II Society, Juice, and South Central. “I’m gonna do a sequel to that,” he said. “We’re gonna take all our movies and do sequels. People need comedy.”
Now, whether he’s serious or just talking in the moment, only time will tell. But if this sequel happens, it would be a long-overdue return to the genre that cemented the Wayans family as comedy royalty.
Scary Movie 6—The Wayans Take Back Their Franchise
While a Don’t Be a Menace sequel is still in the early stages, Scary Movie 6 is a go. After years of watching the franchise they created go off the rails, Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are reclaiming the series that started it all.
As we previously reported, Scary Movie 6 is set for a 2026 release, and this time, the brothers are back in the driver’s seat, working with a new creative team under a fresh partnership. Marlon made it clear that this installment will be a return to form.
“The way it was done last time, it wasn’t the right way,” Wayans admitted in his Big Boy TV interview. “But regimes change. It’s still the same company, but now it’s completely different—owned by somebody new, with a completely different CEO. We’ve got a great working relationship, and we’re gonna make a classic.”
The Scary Movie franchise took a sharp turn after the Wayans left following the second film. Marlon likened the experience to watching his baby get taken away:
“It’s like creating a baby with your family, and then your wife cheats on you, takes the baby, and marries someone who abuses the kid,” he said. “But now the kid is back, living with daddy, getting nutrition, and thriving again.”
White Chicks 2 Is Coming—But After Scary Movie 6
And if two sequels weren’t enough, Marlon also confirmed that White Chicks 2 will get its long-wanted sequel—but not before Scary Movie 6.
During a recent red carpet chat with Good Morning America, Wayans gave an update on the long-rumored sequel to the 2004 comedy hit, which grossed $113 million worldwide and became a cultural phenomenon.
“Fans always ask, ‘When are you doing the sequel?’ They love that movie,” Marlon said. “I think it’s time. So let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’ll go and bring out White Chicks 2.”

Terry Crews, who played the unforgettable Latrell Spencer, has been one of the biggest advocates for a sequel, practically campaigning for it for years. And while some critics have questioned whether White Chicks would work in today’s cultural climate, Marlon isn’t budging.
“I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and canceled,” he previously told Buzzfeed. “If a joke is gonna get me canceled, thank you for doing me that favor.”
Now, with Scary Movie 6 locked in and White Chicks 2 coming next, it looks like the Wayans family, spearheaded by Marlon are making their triumphant return to the genre they helped shape. Add in the possibility of a Don’t Be a Menace sequel, and we’ve got a full-on comedy comeback in the making.
So, are y’all ready for the return of the Wayans comedy empire? Let us know which sequel you’re most excited for!
