Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Trailer Reveals Explosive New Threats

‘Mayor of Kingstown’ season 3 dropped its official trailer introducing viewers to a new wave of challenges facing the characters.

‘Mayor of Kingstown’ is scheduled to debut on Sunday, June 2 in the U.S. and Canada, with international markets following on June 3 on Paramount+.

In the latest trailer, Jeremy Renner’s character, Mike McLusky, faces a daunting task as a series of explosions rock Kingstown, signaling the arrival of a new force in the form of the Russian mob. The city becomes a battleground for a drug war that spills over from the confines of prison, adding layers of complexity to McLusky’s mission to restore peace.

The tension escalates as a familiar figure from McLusky’s past emerges, posing a direct challenge to his authority and the fragile equilibrium among the various factions vying for control. Renner’s return to the role showcases his resilience and commitment to the series after overcoming a near-fatal accident in 2023.

Alongside Renner, the series features a talented ensemble cast including Michael Beach, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Emma Laird, Nishi Munshi, Hamish Allan-Headley. With Rob Kirkland, Natasha Marc reprising their season 1 roles and Denny Love joining the new season

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Dillon, ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ follows the McLusky family, powerbrokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.

The series is a collaboration between MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Regina Corrado, Christoph Schrewe and Keith Cox.

The season marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner returned to set one year after he was critically injured after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. He had broken 38 bones and his rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs.
