The Thomas Crown Affair Remake Starring Michael B Jordan Has Found Its Writer

MGM’s The Thomas Crown Affair remake is moving forward, with Michael B Jordan still attached as lead and Wes Tooke joining to write the screenplay.

Jordan is also producing via his Outlier Society banner with Joe Russo and Anthony Russo through their AGBO banner.

The Thomas Crown Affair follows bored billionaire Thomas Crown who decides to entertain himself by stealing a Monet from a reputed museum. When Catherine Banning, an investigator for the museum’s insurance company, takes an interest in Crown, a complicated back-and-forth game with romantic undertones begins between them. In an attempt to find out where Banning’s loyalties lie, Crown returns the painting and essentially turns himself in, hoping that Banning’s feelings for him will lead to an escape.

The film was first made in 1968 and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway as the leads. Thirty years later in 1999, John McTiernan directed Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo in the film. Now B. Jordan is taking the male lead role, however casting for his female opposite has yet to be cast.

This third remake has been in the works since 2016.
