The Chicago comic, actor, and Emmy winner is capping a breakout run with his first global stand-up special, filmed at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre.
Chicago’s own Dyon “Mojo” Brooks, better known to fans as Mojo Brookzz, is officially getting his Netflix moment. I Know You Lying, his debut comedy special, premieres globally on the streamer October 6, marking the latest milestone in what’s been one of comedy’s fastest ascents in recent memory.
Filmed at Atlanta’s Center Stage Theatre in December 2025, the special is directed by Mike “Homeless Pimp” Lavin and produced by 3 Nuts Studios’ Lavin, Jason Nower, and John-J Sheridan. Brooks executive produces alongside Bernie Cahill and Grant Pennel of Activist Artists Management. What exactly he’s getting into on stage is still under wraps, but given the title, expect receipts.
I Know You Lying borrows its name from Brooks’s sold-out 2025 headline tour, which moved more than 100,000 tickets across 40 cities, itself a follow-up to his 2024 Unhand Me Now tour that sold over 65,000. In under two years, Brooks has gone from clubs to theaters to arenas, a trajectory that’s now landing him a marquee streaming credit.
But stand-up is really only one lane of what Brooks has built. A Chicago native working as an actor, writer, producer, and comedian, he currently stars in the male lead role of Tyler Perry’s Netflix comedy series Miss Governor (also known as She the People), which spent multiple weeks in the platform’s Top 10. He broke out on Wild ‘N Out Season 21, personally selected by Nick Cannon after his sketches went viral, and has since appeared in Real Love (2025), Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told (2024), and A Naughty Christmess Story (2023). On the road, he’s shared arena stages with Mike Epps as part of the We Them Ones tour, and off it, he picked up an Emmy for his work on a Chicago Bears advertising campaign, a partnership that continues season after season.
Brooks is currently mid-run on his biggest tour yet, the 42-date international Outta Pocket tour, hitting the U.S., Hawaii, and Europe, all sold out. That includes two homecoming shows at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena and two nights at New York City’s Beacon Theatre as part of the New York Comedy Festival in November. He also sold out his 2026 Netflix Is a Joke Fest set and will next appear in Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story, a Hallmark, NFL, and Skydance Sports collaboration premiering this December.
With millions of followers across social platforms and credits spanning comedy, television, and brand partnerships, Brooks is fast becoming one of the most versatile names to watch out of Chicago’s comedy scene.
Brooks is repped by Bernie Cahill and Grant Pennel at Activist Artists Management, WME, and Todd Rubenstein at Yorn Levin, Barnes.
