Morgan Freeman is the latest to join the cast of Paramount+’s original limited series Lioness.
He joins alongside series leads Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Laysla De Oliveira.

Lioness is based on a real-life CIA program and follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.
Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur and Hannah Love Lanier are also cast in the series.
Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.
Kidman will play Kaitlyn Meade, described as “the CIA’s Senior Supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game. She must juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community, a wife that longs for the attention she herself can’t even give and a mentor to someone veering suspiciously close to the same rocky road she’s found herself on.”
Jordan and Garrett will play Two Cups and Tucker respectively, who are described as “experienced CIA Special Activities Division operatives on Joe’s team.”
Annable portrays Neil, “Joe’s husband and the father of their two daughters.”

Freeman plays Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State in the show.
Hébert will play Randy, a tech specialist in charge of surveillance and gathering intelligence within the Strike Team of the CIA Special Activities Division operative.
Wharton will portray Tex, a CIA Special Activities Division operative, part of Joe’s team that includes Two Cups (Jordan), Tucker (Garrett) and Randy.
Lanier will play Kate, Joe (Saldaña) and Neil’s (Annable) daughter.

The project comes from Taylor Sheridan, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
