Most know Vondie Curtis-Hall as a prolific actor with nearly 100 acting credits to his name. But did you know he’s also a director and Vondie Curtis-Hall directed seven films as well as countless TV episodes of some of your favorite shows.

As an actor he’s best known for his TV role as Dr. Dennis Hancock on the CBS medical drama Chicago Hope and as Ben Urich in Marvel’s Daredevil. As well as his small but significant roles such as the basketball game vendor in Coming to America. He also starred in movies such as Sugar Hill, Crooklym, Eve’s Bayou, and most recently Harriet as well as Raymond and Ray.

His acting credits go on and on. But as a director, Vondie Curtis-Hall directed on shows such as ER, Firefly, MDs, The Shield, Boston Legal, Sleeper Cell, Gossip Girl, and The Starter Wife.

For films he wrote, directed and starred in the cult film Gridlock’d which was one of Tupac’s last roles. He also directed Mariah Carey twice, for her music video ‘Never Too Far’ and her film, Glitter.
