Netflix has officially announced that Deon Cole’s latest comedy special, titled Ok, Mister, will debut globally on the platform on September 17. This marks Cole’s third stand-up special for Netflix, following the success of Charleen’s Boy in 2022 and Cole Hearted in 2019.
Ok, Mister was filmed during the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles and delivers Cole’s signature humor as he explores topics such as the unmistakable signs of aging, bedroom blunders, and dating deal-breakers. Directed by Ryan Polito, the special was produced by Irwin Entertainment, with Cole, Kirsten Ames, and John Irwin serving as executive producers.

Deon Cole’s relationship with Netflix has been productive beyond his stand-up specials. In between his Netflix specials, Cole released a stand-up documentary titled Workin’ It Out, exclusively on Netflix Is a Joke’s YouTube channel. The documentary has amassed 2.4 million views, showcasing Cole’s strong fan base and continued relevance in the comedy scene.
An Emmy-nominated comedian, writer, and actor, Cole is currently starring in the title role of BET+’s Average Joe, a series that has been well-received and is now available on Netflix. Cole is perhaps best known for his role as Charlie in ABC’s Black-ish and its spin-off, Grown-ish, a role that earned him three consecutive NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Cole’s filmography includes a variety of notable projects, such as Blitz Bazawule’s critically acclaimed remake of The Color Purple, Kenya Barris and Jonah Hill’s You People for Netflix, and the star-studded Netflix Western The Harder They Fall. Up next, Cole will be seen in Netflix’s political thriller series The Madness, starring alongside Colman Domingo.
With Ok, Mister, Cole is set to once again captivate audiences worldwide with his unique brand of humor when the special premieres on September 17.
