Netflix Drops Trailer and Release Date for Romantic Comedy ‘The Wrong Paris’ Starring Yvonne Orji

Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy The Wrong Paris finally has a release date — and now, a first trailer teasing the Miranda Cosgrove-led love story with an unexpected twist: it’s set in Paris… Texas.

The streamer announced that the film will premiere globally on September 12, 2025, and released the trailer showcasing the quirky premise, the small-town charm, and the ensemble cast. Alongside Cosgrove, the cast includes Pierson Fodé, Madison Pettis, Yvonne Orji, Naika Toussaint, Madeleine Arthur, Frances Fisher, Torrance Coombs, Christin Park, Emilija Baranac, Hannah Stocking, Veronica Long, and Ava Bianchi.

The Wrong Paris follows Dawn (Cosgrove), a young woman who signs up for a dating show believing she’s headed to Paris, France. Instead, she ends up in Paris, Texas, in a reality TV mix-up for the ages. What begins as a summer of fake romance quickly shifts into something more heartfelt when she meets Trey (Pierson Fodé), the show’s bachelor whose sincerity catches her off guard.

Determined to bow out early, Dawn plans a scripted exit — but her growing connection with Trey makes that plan harder to stick to. Against wide-open Texas skies and a backdrop of small-town traditions, the film asks: can the wrong destination lead to the right kind of love?

Directed by Janeen Damian (Falling for Christmas, Irish Wish) and written by Nicole Henrich, the rom-com is produced by Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian, with Cosgrove serving as an executive producer alongside Galen Fletcher, Janeen Damian, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, Vincent Balzano, and Kelly Frazier.

Cosgrove — best known for iCarly and her recent Netflix film Mother of the Bride — steps into full-fledged adult romantic comedy territory here, blending satire, heartfelt romance, and fish-out-of-water humor.

Netflix’s trailer release sets the tone for what could be one of the platform’s next breakout romantic comedies — with cowboy boots, camera crews, and just enough chaos to make romance TV worth watching.
