MGM+ has dropped the first-look trailer and key art for Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a gripping new mystery series set to premiere on March 2, 2025, at 9 p.m. EST. The high-stakes thriller stars Star Trek: Discovery’s David Ajala, Emmy Award-winning actor Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), and Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls). The trailer teases a deadly game of survival with a sinister twist—ten passports, nine bodies, and one killer hiding in plain sight.
The series, created and written by Anthony Horowitz CBE (Magpie Murders, Alex Rider), follows nine plane crash survivors in the depths of the Mexican jungle. Initially, all nine survive the crash, but they soon begin dying one by one in increasingly violent and mysterious ways. Supplies dwindle, tensions rise, and trust crumbles as the survivors are forced to confront a terrifying truth: someone among them is the killer.
Told in flashbacks, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue unfolds against the harsh backdrop of the jungle, where heat, danger, and paranoia push the group to their limits. The storyline builds to a shocking reveal as the survivors race to uncover the killer’s identity and the reason behind the deadly plot before it’s too late.
“Let’s all assume the worst of each other, because that’s helpful,” McCormack’s character Kevin remarks sarcastically in the trailer, reflecting the mounting distrust and desperation among the survivors.
Meanwhile, the trailer reveals another mystery: Mexican soldiers, tasked with retrieving the plane’s passengers, discover ten passports but only nine bodies in the morgue. “We are missing someone,” a soldier states, intensifying the hunt for the missing passenger and the unseen killer.
David Ajala, known for his roles in Star Trek: Discovery and Nightflyers, joins an international ensemble cast that also includes Peter Gadiot (Yellowjackets), Lydia Wilson (Ripper Street), and Siobhán McSweeney.
Produced by Eleventh Hour Films—a Sony Pictures Television-backed company—the series is directed by Brian O’Malley and Viviane Andereggen. Executive producers include Jill Green and Eve Gutierrez, with Richard Burrell serving as producer. Sony Pictures Television will distribute Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue worldwide.
Viewers can tune in to MGM+ on MARCH 2 for the premiere and follow the unfolding mystery. Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue promises to be a taut thriller packed with suspense, twists, and a jaw-dropping finale.
