Chastain takes on the role of the Savant, a top-secret investigator who delves into online hate groups, aiming to dismantle the most violent individuals in the nation. Asomugha portrays her husband. This marks a reunion for Asomugha and Chastain as the duo starred in the 2022 Netflix film “The Good Nurse.”
The Savant is penned by Andrea Stanley, is brought to life by writer/executive producer/showrunner Melissa James Gibson, in association with Fifth Season and Anonymous Content.
While Apple remains tight-lipped about specific details, Andrea Stanley’s Cosmo article from August 2019, titled “Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?” serves as the inspiration for the series. The piece unveils the story of a real woman known as “The Savant,” tasked with infiltrating online hate groups to prevent large-scale public attacks.
Nnamdi Asomugha is a versatile talent, transitioning from a successful career in the NFL to becoming a notable actor and producer. He’s starred in Crown Heights, The Banker and one of his prominent roles includes starring opposite Tessa Thompson in the Emmy-nominated film “Sylvie’s Love.”
