Noma Dumezweni has joined the cast of Apple TV+’s Disavowed as a series regular. Details on who she’ll play remain under wraps.
From Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Disavowed follows legendary CIA case officer Brad Griffin (James Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and cast out of the intelligence world, Griffin decides to chase the $15 million federal bounty on the assassin’s head himself.
Dumezweni joins a growing cast that already includes Norman Reedus, Sylvia Hoeks, and Bokeem Woodbine.
The series hails from Apple Studios, with Marcum, Holloway, Tom Spezialy, Michelle MacLaren, Rebecca Hobbs, and Marsden executive producing. MacLaren, known for The Morning Show and Breaking Bad, will direct the first two episodes. Blue Marble Pictures produces, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity also serving as executive producers.
The casting adds to a busy stretch for Dumezweni. She’ll next appear in Susanna White’s film adaptation of Prima Facie opposite Cynthia Erivo, which premiered at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, and will reprise her role as Ayda Mensah in Season 2 of Apple TV+’s Murderbot. She’s also set to recur in Peacock’s Dig and recently appeared in Ryan Murphy’s FX series The Shards. Additional recent credits include Apple TV+’s limited series Presumed Innocent, The Friend, Season 3 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and Netflix’s The Watcher, alongside past work on HBO’s The Undoing, HBO Max’s Made for Love, and the features The Little Mermaid and Retribution.
