Not Another Church Movie Release Date

Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired the domestic rights to the upcoming comedy “Not Another Church Movie.” Starring Kevin Daniels, Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Kyla Pratt, and more, the film is set for a wide theatrical release on May 10th.

In this uproarious comedy, Kevin Daniels takes the lead as Taylor Pherry, a determined young man entrusted with a divine mission from God himself. Tasked with sharing his family’s tales to uplift his community, Pherry soon finds himself caught in a cosmic battle between good and evil, with Foxx portraying God and Mickey Rourke embodying the role of The Devil. Directed by Johnny Mack and produced by Monty the Dog Productions, the film promises to deliver a blend of hilarity and heart.

Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Lamorne Morris, Jaden Miller, and Mickey Rourke round out the cast.

The previously released trailer introduces us to Pherry, who amusingly informs a judge (portrayed by Fox) that his last name is pronounced “Herry” with the “P” being silent. The spoof also features Daniels portraying a Madea-like figure and includes various scenes reminiscent of Tyler Perry’s past projects, such as an ab-less Shemar Moore’s character from Madea’s Family Reunion and the chainsaw scene in Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Pherry even drops a reference to “Daddy’s Little Girls” in one scene, and Tisha Campbell’s character, while watching a police chase, smiles at the camera and says, “Ma-dude Goes to Jail.”

James Michael Cummings and former Warner Bros executive Jim Cardwell serve as producers, with Valerie McCaffrey taking on the role of executive producer.

CEO Tom Ortenberg expressed confidence in the project, praising the creative team for crafting a story that is both entertaining and engaging. Producer Cummings shared his enthusiasm for the project, describing it as one of the best and funniest experiences of his life.

“Not Another Church Movie” arrives amidst a lineup of exciting releases from Briarcliff Entertainment, including the recent crime thriller “Marlowe” and upcoming titles like “DogMan” directed by Luc Besson. With its stellar cast, clever humor, and timely themes, “Not Another Church Movie” is poised to captivate audiences when it hits theaters this May.

Negotiations for the deal were handled by Ortenberg and Jessica Rose on behalf of Briarcliff Entertainment, with Cardwell representing the filmmakers.
