The spy thriller starring Michael Fassbender returns with a full ten-episode season and a mole hunt at its center
Paramount+ has set a return date for one of its most acclaimed dramas. All ten episodes of The Agency Season 2 will be available beginning June 21 at 12:00 AM PT on the platform, the network announced Monday alongside the release of the official trailer and first-look images.
The spy thriller picks up with Martian (Michael Fassbender), a CIA agent living a double life, as he continues his dangerous pursuit to save Samia (Jodie Turner-Smith), his lover and a political prisoner in Sudan. This season centers on a high-stakes mole hunt, with Martian navigating a web of betrayal from within and outside the agency. As the trailer makes clear, the deeper he goes, the harder it becomes to tell friend from enemy.
Much of the Season 1 cast returns, including Jeffrey Wright as CIA Chief Henry Ogletree, Katherine Waterston as Naomi, and Richard Gere as “Bosko” Bradley. Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville also guest star. New additions to the cast this season include Clayne Crawford, Medalion Rahimi, Tessa Ferrer, Raza Jaffrey, Christian Ochoa Lavernia, and Keanush Tafreshi.
Tony Award winner Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth return as writers and executive producers. George Clooney and Grant Heslov executive produce through Smokehouse Pictures, alongside Fassbender, director Joe Wright, and Keith Cox, among others. The series is produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios and is based on the critically acclaimed French drama Le Bureau des Légendes.
Season 1 is currently available to stream on Paramount+.
