Starz continues to build out the world of its untitled Black rodeo drama, adding eight more actors to the recurring cast: Patrick Cage, Tracey Bonner, Keith Arthur Bolden, Derek Delafonte, Demián Castro, Cris Ruiz,Mpho Osei-Tutu, and Christina DeRosa.
The eight-episode series, described as infused with “hip hop swagger and country soul,” is set in Southeast Texas, where the Clarke family’s rodeo legacy and complicated history drive a story of shifting alliances, tangled relationships, and long-buried secrets. It comes from Demascus showrunner Kirk A. Moore and Breaking Bad executive producer Mark Johnson, via Counterpart Studios.
These eight join a previously announced roster that includes SteVonté Hart, John Gabriel Rodriguez, Gabrielle Byndloss, Aaron Smalls, and Samuel-Taylor, along with series leads DeWanda Wise as Anaya Clarke-Reagan, Shannon Wallace as Sebastian Clarke, Tian Richards as Rodney Clarke, Curtiss Cook as Elias Clarke, Lauren E. Banks as Wynter, Marcus Emanuel Mitchell as Julius Calhoun, Liv Symone as Jojo Calhoun, and Jason Dirden as Greg Reagan.

- Mpho Osei-Tutu as TJ — Shady owner of a local casino with a complicated history tied to Sebastian’s father, Elias, and his uncle, LeRoi
- Keith Arthur Bolden as LeRoi Louis — The Clarke siblings’ beloved uncle, who stepped up as a father figure after Elias went to prison, despite hiding a secret of his own
- Tracey Bonner as Neo Leland — Quick-witted owner of Neo’s Soul Kitchen, Anaya’s closest friend, and LeRoi’s on-again, off-again girlfriend of over a decade, currently fighting to save her restaurant from financial collapse
- Cris Ruiz as Rafael Morales — Hot-headed younger brother of company CEO Francisco, eyeing a larger leadership role as rivals circle the family business
- Derek Delafonte as Playboy Ray — Cocky, talented multi-event cowboy whose return to the rodeo circuit reignites a long-running rivalry with Julius
- Demián Castro as Lieutenant Mescal — Overworked detective determined to untangle Trinity City’s recent string of crimes, even if it means clashing with the mayor
- Christina DeRosa as Natalia Morales — Francisco’s supportive but assertive wife and the company’s COO, deeply committed to protecting the family name
Moore serves as showrunner and executive producer. Johnson and Myki Bajaj executive produce via Gran Via Productions, alongside Tony Hernandez, Elise Henderson, and Lilly Burns of Counterpart Studios. Starz executives Giovanna Desselle and Christina Jokanovich oversee the series.
The additions further round out what’s shaping up to be Starz’s next major investment in premium Black storytelling, following the lane carved out by P-Valley. The series marks the second fully owned scripted title Starz has ordered since splitting from Lionsgate in 2025, and production is currently underway in Atlanta.
