Patrick Walker has been upped from recurring to series regular for the second season of Fox’s medical drama Doc. Joining him is Charlotte Fountain-Jardim, who has also been promoted to series regular status.

Doc is adapted from the Italian series Nelle tue mani and follows powerhouse physician Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker). After a car crash wipes out eight years of her memory, Amy must start over as an intern at Westside Hospital, striving to become the doctor she once was and reconcile her past with her new reality. Doc also stars Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker, and Anya Banerjee with Scott Wolf as a recurring guest star for the first season.

Walker plays Dr. TJ Coleman, a first-year resident who’s smart, kind, and determined. As a military vet and the son of two police officers, TJ has a natural sense of duty. He and Amy go way back—she inspired him to pursue medicine in the first place—and now he’s committed to helping her navigate the highs and lows of her fresh start.

Fountain-Jardim portrays Katie Hamda, the daughter of Dr. Amy Larsen and Dr. Michael Hamda (Omar Metwally). Katie is a sensitive, driven perfectionist who’s working to repair her relationship with her mother after Amy’s eight-year memory gap. Katie dreams of becoming a doctor herself, and her evolving bond with Amy is a central piece of the show’s emotional core.

Doc has been a strong performer for Fox, securing a rare 22-episode second season. The series finale for Season 1 saw a 9% viewership jump over the premiere, landing at 2.4 million live + same-day viewers. In the 18-49 demo, the finale spiked 56% over the premiere, earning a 0.28 L+SD rating.

The show is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios. Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg are co-showrunners and executive producers, joined by Erwin Stoff, Russell Fine, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Carol Barbee, and David Foster. The series is inspired by a true story and the globally acclaimed Italian original created by Lux Vide, a Fremantle company.

Walker has been on a roll, recently wrapping a supporting role in the indie Liz Here Now opposite Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. He also stars in Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry alongside Brie Larson and Aja Naomi King, and appeared in Netflix’s The Vince Staples Show. His past credits include roles in Gaslit (Starz) and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (Apple TV+) with Samuel L. Jackson and Dominique Fishback. He’s repped by Gersh, Unbreakable Entertainment, and attorney John Meigs.

With both Walker and Fountain-Jardim now in the main cast, Season 2 of Doc promises even more heart, drama, and powerful performances.
