Paula Patton, Derek Luke Fight to Save a Historic Oak Bluffs Inn in Love on the Vineyard [TRAILER]

More than a decade after sharing the screen in Baggage Claim, Paula Patton and Derek Luke are back together for Love on the Vineyard, Lifetime’s newest original movie, premiering Saturday, November 21, at 8/7c. Lifetime gave Blackfilmandtv.com an exclusive first look at the trailer ahead of the release.

The story follows Jordan Wilson, played by Patton, a Washington, D.C. commercial real estate executive who returns to Martha’s Vineyard with her teenage daughter after years away. Once there, old feelings resurface when she reconnects with Eric Robinson, played by Luke, her former summer love. What starts as a homecoming turns into something bigger: Jordan finds herself fighting to save a historic Oak Bluffs inn, a property that carries real weight for the island’s Black community. Balancing grief, family tension, and the pull of a second chance at love, Jordan comes to realize that protecting the past might be exactly what clears the path toward her future. Janet Hubert also stars.

Behind the camera, the reunion runs even deeper. Executive producer Tracey E. Edmonds, the Emmy winner behind Soul Food and Jumping the Broom, previously worked alongside Patton on the latter, bringing a familiar creative partnership back together for this project. The film arrives as part of Lifetime’s Love of a Lifetime franchise, built around emotionally rich, elevated love stories, and it uses its setting deliberately: Oak Bluffs isn’t just scenery here, it’s one of the most historically significant Black communities in the country, and the film leans directly into that legacy.

Love on the Vineyard rounds out Lifetime’s fall lineup, arriving after Paradise with You, starring Taye Diggs, Heather Hemmens, and Cynthia Bailey, which premieres November 7, and One Last Shot, starring, written, and executive produced by Tisha Campbell, premiering November 14.
