Starz Announces Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Premiere Date + Teaser Trailer

Starz announced that Power Book II: Ghost season 3 will premiere Friday, March 17, 2023, at 8/7c. The network also gave a quick glimpse of returning characters from Mary J. Blige’s Monet to a bloody hand Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.). An a heap of stressed faces from Effie, Davis, Brayden, Dru and more help complete the Power Book II: Ghost season 3 teaser trailer.

Season three picks up after the explosive finale of season two in which Monet was informed her nephew/son Zeke was dead. Also, Zeke’s father Daniel Sunjata’s Mecca/Danté Spears was also found dead by his handler, NYPD detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen). Her return surprised Power fans as she was a character from the franchise’s original series Power.

As previously announced, several new faces will join the cast in Season 3. Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Deuce) will play RSJ, a Howard University and Harvard Business school alum. Kyle Vincent Terry (For Life) will play Obi, a young man schooled in Britain who knows his way around a gun. And Caroline Chikezie (The Shannara Chronicles) will play Noma, a regal woman who has built her wealth with an illicit global empire.

Keesha Sharp, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Kyle Vincent Terry and Caroline Chikezie are joining Ghost season 3 in recurring roles.

Sharp will play Professor Harper Bonet, “a progressive intellectual and boho beauty” (via Deadline). As production ramps up, we could expect more cast announcements.

Akinnagbe will play Ron Samuel Jenkins aka RSJ, a Howard University and Harvard Business School alum who grew up working class and built his own legitimate empire that has firmly entrenched him among the business elite.

Terry will portray Obi, a young man schooled in Britain who knows his way around a gun, but is equally comfortable in a boardroom.

Chikezie is Noma, a worldly and powerful woman with a regal presence who has built her wealth with an illicit global empire and is not afraid to protect it by any means necessary.

They join returning cast members: Mary J. Blige, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Larenz Tate, Berto Colon, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray, LaToya Tonodeo, Alix Lapri and Paton Ashbrook. As well as previously cast new series regulars David Walton, Moriah Brown, Monique Garbiela Curnen and Keesha Sharp.

Power Book II: Ghost is the first series in the expanded Power franchise from executive producers Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The Power series is executive produced by Kemp through her production company End of Episode, Jackson through his G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM.

The third season will be executive produced by Kemp, Jackson, Brett Mahoney, who also serves as showrunner, Canton and Chris Selak, with Geary McLeod serving as supervising producer and directing the Season 3 premiere episode. Lionsgate Television produces the series.
