Picking up right where the explosive Season 2 finale left off, Season 3 takes us back to the heart of Southside Jamaica, Queens. The aftermath of the meticulously orchestrated mob attack on Raquel (Patina Miller), Marvin (London Brown), and Lou-Lou (Malcolm Mays) leaves the family grappling with the aftermath and navigating a landscape of turmoil.

Across the previous two seasons, the character Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) has undergone a gradual transformation, unearthing profound truths about his mother and his own identity. This journey has been nothing short of tumultuous, impacting not only Kanan but rippling through the lives of those closely connected to him. With each revelation, Kanan has been forced to confront a complex tapestry of concealed secrets and familial deception. Denial was his refuge, but now he faces reality head-on.
Raising Kanan season 3 embarks on a profound exploration of moral dilemmas, ethical ambiguity, and the shifting boundaries between good and evil. Kanan’s inner struggle finds resonance in every member of the Thomas family. Marvin seeks redemption, Raq wrestles with her past, Lou confronts his personal demons, and Jukebox strives to break free from her family’s legacy. The cast includes Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, Shanley Caswell, and Antonio Ortiz. With new cast members Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods as “Snaps” and “Pop” Henry, along with Grantham Coleman as “Ronnie.”
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan” is a key installment within the expansive Power Universe franchise. Showcased as part of this dynamic universe, the series holds a significant role. Season 3 of the show is helmed by showrunner and executive producer Sascha Penn. This broader Power Universe series is a collective endeavor, with visionary creator and original Power showrunner Courtney A. Kemp, her production company End of Episode, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM all contributing. The executive producing team also includes Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, Santa Sierra, and Tash Grey.
New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays at midnight ET/PT on the Starz app, all Starz platforms, and internationally on LIONSGATE+ in the U.K. and Ireland. Linear viewing starts at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Starz in the U.S. and Canada.
