Proximity Media Opens Applications for Spring 2027 Internship Program Across Film & TV and Nonfiction Departments

Proximity Media, the production company founded by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, has opened applications for its Spring 2027 internship program across its Film & TV and Nonfiction departments. The paid, in-person program runs from January 11 through May 7, 2027, out of the company’s Burbank offices, with applications due October 23, 2026, at 7 p.m. PST.

Proximity Media has built its reputation on event-driven storytelling since its founding in 2018, with credits including Sinners, Judas and the Black Messiah, Creed III, Marvel’s Ironheart, the National Geographic docuseries Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time, and the animated Black Panther spinoff Eyes of Wakanda. The company recently signed a multi-year overall television deal with Netflix after its previous agreement with Disney expired earlier this year, positioning it to develop a new slate of exclusive scripted and unscripted series for the streamer.

The internship gives students a direct entry point into one of the industry’s most prolific production companies right now, one whose slate spans Oscar-winning box office success, Marvel television, and National Geographic documentary work, all while the company transitions into a new multi-year deal with Netflix. For students pursuing producing, writing, or executive tracks, it’s a chance to learn inside a company currently shaping what a major streamer’s next slate of original series looks like.

With Proximity Media now building out its next chapter at Netflix, this internship class will be getting a front-row seat to how the company’s next slate of projects takes shape.
