Get ready to turn up the volume and mark your calendars because Rap Sh!t Season 2 is premiering on Max (formally HBO Max)sooner than many probably expected…this summer. The Max series, created by the incomparable Issa Rae, follows the journey of two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), as they reunite to form a rap group and navigate the challenges of the music industry.
The exciting news of Rap Sh!t’s second season release comes with the announcement of two talented additions to the cast. Jacob Romero, known for his role in Greenleaf, and Kyle Bary from Ginny & Georgia, have secured key recurring roles in the Max series, further elevating the show’s already stellar ensemble.
Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell, and RJ Cyler are also set to return for the eight-episode second season.
In Season 2, Romero takes on the character of Lord AK, a notable musician/rapper from Los Angeles who is headlining a U.S. tour. With his own unique talent and energy, Lord AK adds depth and intrigue to the show’s narrative. On the other hand, Bary steps into the role of Courtney Taylor, an up-and-coming rapper who opens for his friend Lord AK during the tour.
