Graham Yost will write Wool and Morten Tyldum will direct the series. Wool, which was given a straight-to-series pick up in May, is set in a ruined and toxic future where a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them.

Oyelowo will play Holston, the silo’s sheriff. Jones will play Allison, Holston’s wife, who works in IT. Ferguson is cast as Juliette, an independent and hardworking engineer, and Robbins as Bernard, the head of IT for the silo.

Yost, Ferguson, and Morten Tyldum will executive produce. Howey, Remi Aubuchon, Nina Jack, and Ingrid Escajeda will also executive produce. The series hails from AMC Studios, marking a key off-network sale for the studio arm of the basic cable network, part of its push to increase revenues by becoming a content supplier to third-party outlets.

A premiere timeframe for Wool has not yet been determined.
