A star-filled cast has been announced for Kelsey Bascom’s coming-of-age feature film, “Quarter.” The ensemble includes Bascom, Raven-Symoné, Tati Gabrielle, Nick Creegan, Ali Wentworth, Brooke Shields, and many more.

Written by Bascom herself, “Quarter” is a coming-of-age comedy that revolves around Kelly, portrayed by Bascom, a young woman living with Type 1 diabetes. As she approaches her 25th birthday, the film delves into the challenges of managing her blood sugar levels alongside the ups and downs of her personal life.

Breckin Meyer, Eric Roberts, Mindy Sterling, Brec Bassinger, Dot-Marie Jones, Matty Cardarople, and Derek Theler round out the cast.

Bascom expressed her motivation behind creating “Quarter,” stating, “I wrote Quarter because I want to normalize and bring awareness to Type 1 diabetes (T1D). Most narrative films or TV shows that incorporate Type 1 diabetes either misinterpret or overdramatize it, and we want this film to feel real and the audience to get inside Kelly’s head, a normal person with an abnormal autoimmune disease. It’s all very personal.”

The cast features Tati Gabrielle as Elle, Raven-Symoné as Dr. Anderson, and Nick Creegan as Brian. Ali Wentworth takes on the role of Ali, Brooke Shields as Dr. Wright, Breckin Meyer as Jim, Eric Roberts as Dr. Miller, Mindy Sterling as Liz, Brec Bassinger as Julie, Dot-Marie Jones as Annie, Matty Cardarople as Kyle, and Derek Theler as Dylan.

Arnon Manor, who also serves as SVP of Visual Effects production at Sony Pictures, is the producer of “Quarter.” Other notable producers include Judi Bell, Krista Minto, Ayelet Junger, and Bri Lageyre. Remarkably, this film boasts the largest assemblage of individuals with T1D on a film production to date.

Ali Wentworth, Raven-Symoné, and Brooke Shields, among others, are represented by leading agencies such as CAA, Verve, The Pacella Law Group, UTA, Untitled, Ziffren Brittenham LLP, and JFPR.

“Quarter” promises to be a groundbreaking film, not only for its talented cast but also for its dedication to portraying Type 1 diabetes authentically and raising awareness about this often-misunderstood condition. As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await the release of this unique and insightful coming-of-age comedy.
